Lifting Gear Products is now JOSCAR registered
We’ve completed our registration on JOSCAR, the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register. If you buy lifting equipment or lifting services for the aerospace, defence or security sectors, you can now find us on the platform and check our compliance information without sending us another supplier questionnaire.
We registered on JOSCAR in response to growing demand from our customers in the aerospace, defence and security sectors, who wanted a simpler way to bring us into their buying processes.
What is JOSCAR?
JOSCAR is the supplier register used across UK aerospace, defence and security. It was set up following an initiative by ADS, the industry’s trade association, and is run by Hellios Information. Buyers including the Ministry of Defence, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, Babcock, Leonardo and Boeing use it to find and pre-qualify suppliers. You can read more on the Hellios website.
Instead of every buyer asking for the same paperwork, suppliers fill in one detailed questionnaire covering quality, health and safety, environmental and social responsibility, ethics and cyber security. Hellios checks the answers before they go live, and we keep them updated through the year.
What Changes for our Customers
The main difference is time. Your procurement team can see our information on JOSCAR straight away, so getting us set up as a supplier should be much quicker. You also won’t need to come back to us for the same assurance documents every time you send an enquiry or put a job out to tender.
Because the information is checked and kept current, it’s also easier to show your own customers that your supply chain has been properly vetted, and the ESG section helps with your own reporting.
Supplier approval is still your decision, as it is with anyone you buy from. JOSCAR just means most of the groundwork is already done.
