Frequently Asked Questions About Load Proof Testing
-
What is the difference between load proof testing and tensile proof load testing?
Load proof testing may include live load, operational and in-situ verification using certified test weights or applied loads. Tensile proof load testing is typically conducted in a controlled laboratory or workshop environment using a tensile test bed. Each method serves different compliance and validation purposes.
-
What is your maximum proof load testing capacity?
Our in-house horizontal test bed has a 100-tonne capacity. We also provide 10-tonne live load testing and utilise certified test weights and calibrated dynamometers for smaller applications.
-
Is proof load testing required for CE or UKCA marking?
Proof load testing may form part of the conformity assessment process for lifting accessories and safety-critical components. Test reports can support technical file documentation under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations.
-
Can you test equipment on-site?
Yes. We provide live load and operational testing services using certified weights and calibrated measurement systems.
