Description
PlumAlti Heavy-Duty Duplex Webbing Sling – 3t WLL
The PlumAlti 3 tonne Duplex Webbing Sling is a yellow, double-ply polyester sling rated at 3,000kg in a straight lift. It is a hard-working sling for utility contractors, groundworkers and landscapers, combining a useful capacity with a light, flexible design that is easy to handle in trenches, excavations and tight working areas.
Built for Utilities and Infrastructure Work
Water, gas, power and telecoms work involves regular handling of drainage pipes, ducting, valves, pipe fittings and cable drums. The flat webbing cradles round and cylindrical loads securely and is far less likely than chain to damage pipe coatings, plastic ducting or cable. A basket hitch around a pipe or drum gives a stable, balanced lift when lowering into a trench.
Ideal for Groundworks and Landscaping
From kerbs and paving packs to feature boulders, sleepers and stone, the 3t sling is well matched to the excavators, dumpers and small cranes used on groundworks and landscaping projects. It is also a useful sling on farms for lifting water tanks, feeders and implements. Fit wear sleeves where the sling contacts rough stone, concrete or sharp metal.
Yellow Colour Coding for 3 Tonnes
Yellow is the EN 1492-1 colour for a 3 tonne sling. The bright colour is easy to spot on site and in the bottom of a trench, and lets operators confirm the capacity before every lift.
3t Working Load Limits by Hitch
Based on the standard EN 1492-1 mode factors, the WLL in each hitch is:
- Straight lift: 3,000kg
- Choke hitch: 2,400kg
- Basket hitch (parallel): 6,000kg
- Basket hitch (0–45°): 4,200kg
- Basket hitch (45–60°): 3,000kg
The same figures are shown on the sling label.
Duplex Strength and Full Traceability
Made from two plies of 100% high-tenacity polyester, the sling is strong and resistant to abrasion for frequent outdoor use. It has a 7:1 safety factor, is produced in accordance with BS EN 1492-1:2000 and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and comes with a Declaration of Conformity.
The blue traceability label lists the WLL, effective working length, unique serial number and mode factors, so slings can be checked quickly and logged for LOLER.
Reliable in Wet and Cold Conditions
Polyester keeps its strength when wet and the sling can be used from -40°C to +100°C, so it is suitable for year-round work outdoors. Maximum elongation of 3% at WLL keeps pipes and materials steady when lowering them into position.
3t or 4t?
The 3t sling covers most utility, groundworks and landscaping lifts. If your loads are near 3 tonnes, or you will be lifting in a choke hitch, move up to the PlumAlti 4t Duplex Webbing Sling (Grey).
