Description
PlumAlti Heavy-Duty Polyester Round Sling – 4t WLL
The PlumAlti 4 tonne Polyester Round Sling is a grey, endless sling rated at 4,000kg in a straight lift. It is a trusted choice for heritage, architectural and art handling work, where loads are irregular in shape, often irreplaceable, and must be lifted with great care.
Careful Lifting for Heritage and Architectural Work
Church bells, statues, sculptures, stone columns and ornamental ironwork rarely have built-in lifting points and are easily chipped or scratched. The round sling’s soft sleeve and flexible core wrap around complex shapes and spread the load evenly, reducing pressure on delicate features. This makes it well suited to restoration projects, conservation work and the installation of new architectural pieces.
Rigging Irregular Shapes
The endless design can be choked around a column, cradled in a basket beneath a bell or sculpture, or used in pairs to balance an uneven load. With no fixed eyes, the sling can be positioned exactly where the load is strongest, and the contact points can be changed between lifts to spread wear. Fit protective sleeves or soft padding where the sling passes over edges, carved detail or rough stone.
Grey Colour Coding for 4 Tonnes
Grey identifies a 4 tonne round sling under EN 1492-2, giving the lifting team a clear capacity check before every lift.
4t Working Load Limits by Hitch
Based on the standard EN 1492-2 mode factors, the WLL in each hitch is:
- Straight lift: 4,000kg
- Choke hitch: 3,200kg
- Basket hitch (parallel): 8,000kg
- Basket hitch (0–45°): 5,600kg
- Basket hitch (45–60°): 4,000kg
The same values are printed on the sling label.
Compliance and Traceability
The sling is manufactured from 100% high-tenacity polyester to EN 1492-2 and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. It has a 7:1 safety factor for standard lifting and 5:1 for specialised applications. A blue traceability label shows the serial number, WLL, effective working length and safety factors, which helps when lift plans and records are required for listed buildings and heritage sites.
Indoors or Outdoors
Rated from -40°C to +100°C, the sling can be used in bell towers, churches, galleries and museums as well as on outdoor sites and monuments.
4t or 5t?
The 4t round sling handles most bells, statues and architectural pieces. If your load is close to 4 tonnes, or you need a choke hitch, choose the PlumAlti 5t Polyester Round Sling (Red).
