PlumAlti Heavy-Duty Polyester Round Sling – 2t WLL

The PlumAlti 2 tonne Polyester Round Sling is a green, endless sling rated at 2,000kg in a straight lift. Its round, flexible body tightens evenly around cylindrical and natural shapes, making it a practical choice for lifting logs, timber, casks, barrels and drums, where a flat sling or chain can slip or bite into the surface.

A Secure Grip on Logs and Timber

In forestry, arboriculture and sawmill work, a round sling choked around a log, tree section or timber pole grips firmly along its length and is easy to release once the load is down. The soft sleeve reduces bark damage and avoids marking finished poles and milled timber. For long items, use two slings for a level, controlled lift.

Suited to Casks, Barrels and Drums

Breweries, distilleries and cooperages handle casks and barrels that are heavy, round and easily scratched. The round sling cradles these loads in a basket or choke hitch without marking staves, hoops or painted finishes. It can also be used for drums when a dedicated drum lifter is not available, provided the drum is sound and the sling is rigged so the drum cannot slip.

Green Colour Coding for 2 Tonnes

Under EN 1492-2, green identifies a 2 tonne round sling, letting operators confirm the capacity at a glance in the yard, cellar or warehouse.

2t Working Load Limits by Hitch

Applying the standard EN 1492-2 mode factors, the WLL in each hitch is:

• Straight lift: 2,000kg
• Choke hitch: 1,600kg
• Basket hitch (parallel): 4,000kg
• Basket hitch (0–45°): 2,800kg
• Basket hitch (45–60°): 2,000kg

A choke hitch is often the most secure way to lift a single log or pole.

Endless Construction and Traceability

The load is carried by a continuous core of 100% high-tenacity polyester fibres inside a protective sleeve. With no fixed eyes, the contact points can be moved between lifts to spread wear. Each sling is produced to EN 1492-2 and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, with a 7:1 safety factor for standard lifting and 5:1 for specialised applications. A blue traceability label shows the serial number, WLL, effective working length and safety factors.

Outdoors and in All Seasons

The sling can be used from -40°C to +100°C, so it is suitable for woodland and yard work through the winter as well as indoor cellars and warehouses. Fit protective sleeves where the sling passes over rough bark, cut ends or metal hoops.

2t or 3t?

The 2t round sling handles most logs, casks and drums. For larger tree sections or loads close to 2 tonnes, especially in a choke hitch, choose the PlumAlti 3t Polyester Round Sling (Yellow).
