PlumAlti Heavy-Duty Polyester Round Sling – 3t WLL
The PlumAlti 3 tonne Polyester Round Sling is a yellow, endless sling rated at 3,000kg in a straight lift. Flexible, lightweight and quick to rig, it is a staple of the rigger’s kit, used both as a lifting sling and for creating temporary anchor points on structural steelwork.
Temporary Anchor Points on Beams and Trusses
Wrapped around a steel beam, column or roof truss in a choke or basket hitch, the round sling creates a secure suspension point for a chain block or lever hoist. The soft sleeve grips the steel without damaging paint or fire protection coatings and can be removed easily once the job is finished. Always confirm the structure is strong enough to support the load, and use protective sleeves on sharp flange edges.
Lifting Composites, Mouldings and Bodies
As a lifting sling, the 3t round sling is well suited to lightweight but bulky loads with delicate finishes, such as fibreglass and composite mouldings, vehicle bodies and chassis, and fabricated enclosures. Its rounded profile and soft grip spread the load without crushing thin panels or marking gelcoat and paintwork. Two slings can be used together for a balanced lift on longer items.
Yellow Colour Coding for 3 Tonnes
Yellow is the EN 1492-2 colour for a 3 tonne round sling. The bright colour is easy to see when rigged overhead and makes the capacity simple to confirm from the ground.
3t Working Load Limits
Using the standard EN 1492-2 mode factors, the WLL in each hitch is:
- Straight lift: 3,000kg
- Choke hitch: 2,400kg
- Basket hitch (parallel): 6,000kg
- Basket hitch (0–45°): 4,200kg
- Basket hitch (45–60°): 3,000kg
When rigging a hoist from a beam, make sure the sling’s WLL in the chosen hitch is at least equal to the hoist’s rated capacity.
Strength, Compliance and Traceability
The load is carried by a continuous core of 100% high-tenacity polyester inside a protective outer sleeve. Each sling is produced to EN 1492-2 and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, with a 7:1 safety factor for standard lifting and 5:1 for specialised applications. A blue traceability label carries the serial number, WLL, effective working length and safety factors.
Working Temperatures
The sling can be used from -40°C to +100°C, covering workshops, roof spaces, plant rooms and outdoor structures.
3t or 4t?
The 3t round sling suits most rigging and lighter lifting tasks. For heavier hoists or loads close to 3 tonnes, choose the PlumAlti 4t Polyester Round Sling (Grey).
