Description
PlumAlti Heavy-Duty Duplex Webbing Sling – 5t WLL
The PlumAlti 5 tonne Duplex Webbing Sling is a red, double-ply polyester sling rated at 5,000kg in a straight lift. It is a dependable all-rounder for construction sites, plant yards and deliveries, with the capacity for small plant and heavy materials in a sling that is light, compact and quick to rig.
Made for Lorry Loaders, Telehandlers and Site Cranes
A 5t sling pairs well with the lifting equipment found on most sites and delivery vehicles, including lorry-mounted loader cranes, telehandlers fitted with a jib or hook, forklift jib attachments and mobile cranes. It is light enough to keep in the cab or site container and can be rigged in seconds, making it ideal for drivers and slingers handling deliveries and offloading.
Handles Small Plant and Site Materials
From mini excavators and dumpers to pumps, compressors and welfare units, the 5t duplex sling covers a wide range of site equipment. It is equally suited to bundles of formwork, scaffold tube, steel sections and stillages. The soft webbing grips without damaging paintwork, hydraulic hoses or coated surfaces, and wear sleeves can be added where the sling meets sharp steel edges.
Red Colour Coding for 5 Tonnes
Under EN 1492-1, red marks a 5 tonne sling. On a busy site with several sling capacities in use, the colour lets everyone see the rating immediately and reduces the risk of the wrong sling being used.
5t Working Load Limits by Hitch
Applying the standard EN 1492-1 mode factors, the sling’s WLL in each hitch is:
- Straight lift: 5,000kg
- Choke hitch: 4,000kg
- Basket hitch (parallel): 10,000kg
- Basket hitch (0–45°): 7,000kg
- Basket hitch (45–60°): 5,000kg
Refer to the mode factors on the sling label before each lift.
Tough Duplex Construction
Two plies of 100% high-tenacity polyester give the sling the strength and abrasion resistance needed for demanding site work. It is manufactured with a 7:1 safety factor in accordance with BS EN 1492-1:2000 and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and is supplied with a Declaration of Conformity.
A blue traceability label shows the WLL, effective working length, unique serial number and mode factors, so site managers can check and record every sling quickly.
Works in All Weathers
With an operating range of -40°C to +100°C, the sling is suitable for year-round outdoor use on site. Maximum elongation of 3% at WLL keeps loads under control when landing them on scaffolds, trailers or uneven ground.
5t or 6t?
The 5t sling covers most site plant and material lifts. For heavier loads approaching 5 tonnes, or when a choke hitch is needed, the PlumAlti 6t Duplex Webbing Sling (Brown) gives you extra capacity.
