Description
Pewag Winner Pro Grade 12 Three Leg Chain Sling Assembly
The Pewag Winner Pro Grade 12 Three Leg Chain Sling Assembly is a high-performance lifting solution designed for demanding multi-point lifting applications where high capacity, improved load distribution and controlled handling are important. Manufactured using Pewag’s advanced Winner Pro Grade 12 profile chain and assembled in accordance with EN 818-4, it provides a strong and lightweight alternative to conventional Grade 8 and Grade 10 chain slings.
Winner Pro Grade 12 chain offers approximately 50% higher Working Load Limit (WLL) than Grade 8 and around 20% higher than Grade 10, allowing smaller chain sizes to achieve high lifting capacities. The resulting reduction in sling weight can make the assembly easier to handle during rigging and everyday lifting operations.
The three-leg configuration is particularly suited to large, uneven, asymmetrical or irregularly shaped loads where multiple lifting points are required. An oversized Grade 12 master link with an asymmetrical design optimises contact with crane hooks manufactured to DIN 15401, helping to improve load transfer and make the WLL easier to assess during setup.
Available in chain sizes from 7mm to 13mm, the sling can be supplied with latch hooks, standard self-locking safety hooks or oversized self-locking safety hooks. Optional shortening grab hooks can also be fitted to individual legs, allowing the effective working length to be adjusted to help balance uneven loads.
Winner Pro Grade 12 Three Leg Chain Sling for Multi-Point Lifting
A three-leg chain sling provides three lifting points for improved load control when handling loads that are unsuitable for a standard single- or two-leg arrangement. When correctly selected and rigged, the configuration can help maintain the position and stability of large or irregular loads during lifting.
The Winner Pro Grade 12 system combines this multi-leg configuration with high-strength chain technology, providing high lifting capacities without the additional weight associated with larger conventional chain sizes.
Oversized Grade 12 Master Link for Improved Load Transfer
The oversized Grade 12 master link features an asymmetrical design developed to optimise its contact with crane hooks manufactured to DIN 15401. Its geometry also provides improved visibility when positioning the sling and assessing the applicable Working Load Limit.
The master link forms the main connection between the three sling legs and the crane hook, providing a secure connection point for demanding lifting applications.
Hook & Shortening Options
Winner Pro Grade 12 Three Leg Chain Slings are available with a choice of hook configurations to suit different lifting requirements:
- Latch hooks
- Standard self-locking safety hooks
- Oversized self-locking safety hooks
- Optional shortening grab hooks fitted to individual legs
Shortening hooks allow individual legs to be adjusted to the required effective working length, which can be particularly useful when lifting uneven or asymmetrical loads.
High-Strength, Lightweight Grade 12 Chain
Winner Pro Grade 12 chain is manufactured using Pewag’s advanced Grade 12 profile, providing approximately 50% higher WLL than Grade 8 and around 20% higher than Grade 10.
The increased capacity of the Grade 12 system allows smaller chain diameters to be used for demanding lifting applications. This can reduce the overall weight of the sling, making it easier to transport, position and connect to loads.
Ideal Applications
The Pewag Winner Pro Grade 12 Three Leg Chain Sling is suitable for a wide range of demanding lifting applications, including:
- Lifting uneven, asymmetrical or irregularly shaped loads
- Structural steel assemblies and fabricated sections
- Heavy machinery and equipment
- Construction and civil engineering projects
- Manufacturing and fabrication facilities
- Plant installation and maintenance
- Multi-point lifting applications
- Lifting operations requiring improved load distribution and control

Capacity & Load Information
The 5t-26.5t WLL stated for this product represents the overall available product range, rather than the capacity of every three-leg sling configuration.
The actual Working Load Limit depends on the selected chain diameter, sling configuration and angle of inclination. As the angle between the sling legs increases, the load carried by the individual legs also increases and the applicable WLL must be reduced in accordance with the relevant Pewag load charts.
Always select the correct sling configuration for the load being lifted and check the applicable WLL before use. Where the load is uneven or the centre of gravity is not central, additional consideration should be given to how the load will distribute across the three legs.

Safety & User Instructions
- Ensure all three legs are correctly connected to the load before lifting.
- Never assume that all three legs will carry an equal share of the load.
- Never rely on a single leg to support the complete load.
- Check the applicable WLL for the selected chain size and angle of inclination using the relevant Pewag load charts.
- Do not exceed the Working Load Limit of the sling or any individual component.
- Ensure hooks and connecting points are correctly seated before lifting.
- Inspect the chain, hooks, master link and other fittings before every use.
- Check for excessive wear, deformation, cracks or other visible damage.
- Remove the sling from service if damage, deformation or excessive wear is identified.
- Ensure the load is properly balanced and securely attached before lifting.
- Avoid shock loading and sudden movements during lifting.
- Follow all supplied Pewag Winner Pro safety documentation and applicable lifting procedures.
- Lifting operations should only be carried out by suitably trained and competent personnel.
