Description
Yale CPV Electric Chain Hoist with Powered Trolley
The Yale CPV Electric Chain Hoist with Powered Trolley provides a complete lifting and travelling solution for industrial applications where loads need to be lifted, moved and accurately positioned along a crane beam.
Available with capacities from 125kg to 5000kg WLL, the CPV range is suitable for a wide variety of professional lifting applications, from workshop and maintenance duties through to production and heavier industrial material handling.
The integrated electric powered trolley allows the hoist and suspended load to travel along a compatible I-beam or crane runway under powered control. This removes the need for manual trolley movement, reducing operator effort and making the system particularly useful where loads are regularly moved between different working positions.
The CPV hoist incorporates an electromagnetic spring pressure brake, overload slip clutch and upper and lower limit switches, providing reliable protection during lifting operations. Its oil-bath gearbox and helical gearing provide smooth operation, while the IP55-rated construction makes the hoist suitable for demanding workshop and industrial environments.
Electric Lifting with Powered Horizontal Travel
Unlike a fixed CPV hoist or a CPV fitted with a hand push trolley, this configuration provides powered horizontal travel.
The electric trolley moves the hoist along the crane beam, allowing the operator to position suspended loads without manually pushing the equipment.
This can be particularly beneficial where loads need to be moved repeatedly between workstations, production areas or storage positions.
Powered trolley travel can help:
- Reduce operator effort
- Improve load positioning
- Increase handling efficiency
- Reduce physical strain
- Provide controlled horizontal movement
- Improve productivity on repetitive lifting tasks
Single and Dual-Speed Trolley Options
The powered trolley is available with single-speed or dual-speed travel, depending on the selected model.
Example travel speeds include:
- 11 m/min single speed
- 11 / 2.8 m/min dual speed
Single-speed travel provides straightforward powered movement along the beam, while dual-speed operation allows faster travelling combined with slower, more controlled positioning.
Dual-speed travel can be particularly useful where accurate load placement is required or where longer crane runs are involved.
125kg to 5 Tonne Lifting Capacity
The Yale CPV powered trolley range covers lifting capacities from 125kg through to 5000kg WLL.
This broad capacity range allows the CPV system to be specified for a variety of applications, including lighter workstation lifting, assembly operations, maintenance work and heavier industrial material handling.
The required lifting height is supplied to order, allowing the hoist to be configured to suit the installation.
Electromagnetic Spring Pressure Brake
The Yale CPV is fitted with an electromagnetic spring pressure brake designed to hold the suspended load securely when lifting is stopped.
The brake also holds the load in the event of a power failure, providing an important safety feature for professional lifting applications.
Overload Protection
An integrated slip clutch provides protection against overload conditions.
The slip clutch works alongside the hoist’s braking and limit switch systems to help protect the lifting mechanism and associated components during operation.
Upper and Lower Limit Switches
The CPV incorporates upper and lower limit switches to prevent excessive hook travel.
These switches help prevent over-hoisting and over-lowering, protecting the motor, gearbox and slip clutch from unnecessary over-travel and helping extend component service life.
Smooth Oil-Bath Gearbox
The hoist uses an oil-bath gearbox with helical gearing to provide smooth and reliable lifting operation.
The gearing system is designed to provide consistent movement during repeated industrial lifting applications.
Combined with the powered trolley, the CPV provides controlled lifting and travelling for professional overhead material handling systems.
42V Low-Voltage Control
The Yale CPV operates using a 42V low-voltage control system.
Depending on the selected configuration, control options include 2-button and 4-button pluggable control pendants as well as radio remote control.
This allows the control arrangement to be selected to suit the requirements of the installation and lifting application.
Industrial Protection
The CPV has an IP55 protection class, providing protection suitable for a wide range of workshop and industrial environments.
The stated operating temperature range is -10°C to +40°C.
Where additional protection is required, rain covers for the hoist and chain are available as an option.
Powered Trolley Beam Compatibility
The powered trolley is designed for use with compatible I-beams and crane beams.
Depending on the selected model, the trolley can accommodate beam flange widths from approximately 58mm to 300mm.
The correct trolley configuration should be selected according to the dimensions of the supporting beam.
