Description
The YaleLift 360 ATEX Basic Hand Chain Hoist combines the outstanding ergonomics and safety benefits of the standard YaleLift 360 with ATEX certification, making it suitable for operation in explosive atmospheres where conventional lifting equipment cannot be used.
Certified to ATEX II 3G Ex h IIA T4 Gc and II 3D Ex h IIA T135°C Dc, this hoist is approved for use in gas Zone 2 and dust Zone 22 environments. It is ideally suited for industries such as oil & gas, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, power generation, paint shops, grain handling and bulk material processing, where ignition risks must be strictly controlled.
The standout feature of the YaleLift 360 ATEX Basic is its revolutionary 360° rotating hand chain guide, allowing the operator to pull the hand chain from virtually any direction. This enables safe operation from the side of the load, above the load or in confined spaces, significantly reducing the need to work directly beneath suspended loads. The added flexibility also allows the hoist to be used for horizontal pulling and tensioning, where permitted by application and regulations.
The hoist is built around a fully enclosed, robust stamped steel housing, protecting internal components from dust, moisture and external contamination. This enclosed design is essential for ATEX applications, ensuring long-term reliability even in harsh industrial environments. The chain guide and gearbox are almost completely enclosed, keeping critical components protected at all times.
An extremely low headroom design maximises available lifting height, making the YaleLift 360 ATEX Basic ideal for installations with restricted clearance. Precision engineering is evident throughout, including a hardened load sheave with precision-machined pockets, which ensures accurate chain engagement, smooth lifting and reduced wear on the load chain.
The quiet, high-performance brake system guarantees secure load holding and operational safety while avoiding vulnerable ratchet pawls. Brake components and internal parts are manufactured from high-quality materials and feature zinc-plated and yellow-chromated surface protection to enhance corrosion resistance and durability in demanding environments.
The surface-protected alloy steel load chain complies with all applicable national and international standards and is optimally matched to the load sprocket for safe, efficient and long-lasting operation. Forged suspension and load hooks, manufactured from high-tensile steel, are designed to yield under overload rather than fracture. Both hooks rotate through 360° and are fitted with robust safety latches for secure load attachment.
Available in capacities from 500kg to 10,000kg, the range is extended by a 20-tonne ATEX model, which maintains a compact design despite its high lifting capacity. The YaleLift 360 ATEX 20t uses six chain falls only, resulting in improved lifting speed and reduced overall weight compared to traditional high-capacity hoists.
The ATEX Basic version focuses on essential explosion protection while retaining the core safety, performance and ergonomic advantages of the YaleLift 360 range, making it a cost-effective solution for hazardous area lifting applications.
