Description
William Hackett Hack10 Grade 10 Reevable Egg Link
The William Hackett Hack10 Grade 10 Reevable Egg Link is designed specifically for use in Hackett Grade 10 collar slings. Its wide link aperture allows another reevable egg link to pass through it, which forms a choke around the load. This makes it ideal for securely gripping bundles, bars and other loads that need to be cinched tight.
Its clevis attachment fits directly onto Hack10 Grade 10 chain without a separate connector. The link is manufactured from alloy steel in accordance with EN 1677-1, ASTM A952/A952M and DIN PAS 1061, and is suitable for use in chain slings certified to EN 818-4.
Built for Choke Lifting
In a collar sling, one reevable egg link passes through the other to form a loop that tightens around the load as it is lifted. The egg shape and wide aperture let the links pass through each other smoothly. This gives a secure, self-tightening grip on round or bundled loads such as steel bar, tube and pipe.
DGUV Test H-Mark Certified
The Hack10 reevable egg link has been independently verified and awarded the DGUV Test H-Mark for lifting components, under number H83. This third-party accreditation gives extra assurance of the link’s quality and performance, on top of the manufacturer’s own testing.
25% Stronger Than Grade 8
The Hack10 reevable egg link is 25% stronger than its Grade 8 equivalent. This gives a higher Working Load Limit without needing a larger-diameter chain sling. You can often specify a smaller chain size than Grade 8 for the same capacity, which means lighter rigging that is easier to handle and position. A Grade 8 reevable egg link is also available for Hack8 assemblies.
Tested for Quality and Traceability
William Hackett crack-detects every reevable egg link after heat treatment and proof load tests it to 2.5 times its Working Load Limit. These checks help confirm the integrity of each component before it enters service.
Wide Operating Temperature Range
The Hack10 reevable egg link can be used from -40°C to +200°C with no reduction in Working Load Limit. This makes it suitable for cold outdoor sites, renewables work and warmer industrial settings.
Size & Compatibility
The Hack10 reevable egg link is available for chain sizes from 8mm to 16mm, with Working Load Limits from 2.5 tonnes to 10 tonnes. It is designed to be used with:

Capacity & Load Information
The Working Load Limit of the Hack10 reevable egg link depends on the size you select. The 2.5t–10t range covers the whole product range and does not apply to every size. Always match the link to the chain size and the required WLL of the complete sling.
Choke lifting normally reduces the WLL of a sling compared with a straight lift, so always apply the reduction factor given in the manufacturer’s instructions. The overall WLL is also set by the sling’s configuration and its lowest-rated component. Take into account any other applicable reduction factors, such as shock loading or edge loading.

Safety & User Instructions
- Use the link only with Grade 10 chain of the matching size.
- Do not mix grades within an assembly.
- Do not exceed the Working Load Limit of the link or the complete sling.
- Apply the correct WLL reduction for choke lifting as given in the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Make sure the clevis pin and retaining parts are fully fitted and secure.
- Check that the reeved link passes freely and the choke tightens evenly around the load before lifting.
- Do not force the choke down onto the load; allow it to tighten naturally as the lift begins.
- Inspect the link before every use for wear, cracks, deformation, nicks or corrosion.
- Take out of service any link showing damage, distortion or excessive wear.
- Avoid shock loading and sudden application of load.
- Do not use outside the -40°C to +200°C operating temperature range.
- Do not modify, weld or heat-treat the link.
- Follow all manufacturer instructions and make sure the equipment is thoroughly examined in line with LOLER.
