Description
William Hackett Hack10 Grade 10 Clevis Shackle
The William Hackett Hack10 Grade 10 Clevis Shackle is a highly versatile end fitting, suitable for a wide variety of lifting and general chain sling applications. Its clevis attachment fits directly onto Hack10 Grade 10 chain without a separate connector, which keeps the sling leg simple and compact.
The shackle is manufactured from alloy steel in accordance with EN 1677-1, ASTM A952/A952M and DIN PAS 1061. It is suitable for use in chain slings certified to EN 818-4.
A Versatile Chain Sling End Fitting
A shackle gives a closed, secure connection to the load, unlike an open hook. The Hack10 clevis shackle can attach directly to lifting points such as eye bolts, lugs and plates. That makes it a dependable choice where the sling needs to stay firmly connected throughout the lift.
DGUV Test H-Mark Certified
The Hack10 clevis shackle has been independently verified and awarded the DGUV Test H-Mark for lifting components, under number H83. This third-party accreditation gives extra assurance of the shackle’s quality and performance, on top of the manufacturer’s own testing.
25% Stronger Than Grade 8
The Hack10 clevis shackle is 25% stronger than its Grade 8 equivalent. This gives a higher Working Load Limit without needing a larger-diameter chain sling. You can often specify a smaller chain size than Grade 8 for the same capacity, which means lighter rigging that is easier to handle and position.
Tested for Quality and Traceability
William Hackett crack-detects every clevis shackle after heat treatment and proof load tests it to 2.5 times its Working Load Limit. These checks help confirm the integrity of each component before it enters service.
Wide Operating Temperature Range
The Hack10 clevis shackle can be used from -40°C to +200°C with no reduction in Working Load Limit. This makes it suitable for cold outdoor sites, renewables work and warmer industrial settings.
Size & Compatibility
The Hack10 clevis shackle is available for chain sizes from 8mm to 16mm, with Working Load Limits from 2.5 tonnes to 10 tonnes. It is designed to be used with:
- Hack10 Grade 10 lifting chain of the matching size

Capacity & Load Information
The Working Load Limit of the Hack10 clevis shackle depends on the size you select. The 2.5t–10t range covers the whole product range and does not apply to every size. Always match the shackle to the chain size and the required WLL of the complete assembly.
In any sling, the overall WLL is set by its configuration and its lowest-rated component. Take into account any applicable reduction factors, such as shock loading, side loading or asymmetric loading, as set out in the manufacturer’s instructions

- Make sure the shackle pin is fully screwed in or secured before lifting, and never replace it with a bolt or a non-genuine pin.
- Load the shackle in line; avoid side loading.
- Check that the lifting point fits freely within the shackle and is not jammed or point loaded.
- Inspect the shackle and pin before every use for wear, cracks, deformation, bent pins, damaged threads, nicks or corrosion.
- Take out of service any shackle showing damage, distortion or excessive wear.
- Avoid shock loading and sudden application of load.
- Do not use outside the -40°C to +200°C operating temperature range.
